Fall is in full swing and the trees are shedding their amber and yellow leaves changing the landscape and how far you can see through the forest. This mirrors the big changes happening in our family with our oldest moving to North Dakota for college and baby 10 due in December.
The wildlife no longer sees the craziness of our house as a threat. The squirrels were abundant, leisurely eating more than their fair share of pears and chestnuts. Wild rabbits made their burrows under our pallet gardens next to the trampoline. A family of deer make regular strolls down the street. God’s creations are a joy to observe.
On the homestead we are preparing for winter and enjoying the fruits of all labor from the summer. Chestnuts, tomatoes, beans and peppers and small crop of squash, hemp & moringa. Pink banana squash and Kentucky Wonder Pole Beans were the best producers this summer.
Oh, yeah, we also bought a 30 acre farm.
Fall on the Homestead.
There is no lack of projects on the homestead. Processing chestnuts, collecting acorns for our friend’s pigs, falling stubborn trees and still getting the hang of welding. Life is good on the land.
In addition to all the fun on the land, travel to Poland, Idaho, New Orleans and Phoenix have kept Dad busy.
Praise God for His faithfulness and creativity!
