Ryan Hanning Ph.D is currently the proud father of 10, husband of 1, and professor of Church History and Theology. While most of his time is spent teaching, writing, and tending their family homestead, he has had the opportunity to travel throughout the US, Canada, and Europe teaching and speaking at both church and academic conferences. Ryan has served in academic administration as well as create graduate level education programs for Catholic and Classical School teachers. He has also worked in parish life as a Youth Leader and DRE, as well as a Diocesan Director of Family Catechesis. He taught comparative religion, and New Testament for over ten years, and for the past ten years has focused primarily on Church History, Virtue Ethics and the development of theology in both the Eastern and Western Christian traditions. He is the co-author of The WillPower Advantage: Building Habits for Lasting Happiness and is a fellow of the San Juan Diego Institute as well as the Institute of Catholic Theology, and the Havard Virtuous Leadership Institute.

He completed his undergraduate degree in Religious Studies at Arizona State University, his graduate degree in Education at Northern Arizona University, studied post-graduate theology at University of Dallas, and completed his PhD in Theology at Maryvale Institute, Liverpool Hope University, UK. His studies have included time in both Oxford and Cambridge, as well as a short time at the Jagiellonian in Krakow, Poland. 

He and his family homestead in Joelton, TN.
